And I mean a real one. Not one of these imaginary racists that we’ve all become.

When Carter returned to Plains, Georgia, to become a peanut farmer after serving in the Navy, he became a member of the Sumter County School Board, which did not implement the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision handed down by the Supreme Court. Instead, the board continued to segregate school children on the streets of Carter’s hometown. …

Carter’s board tried to stop the construction of a new “Elementary Negro School” in 1956. Local white citizens had complained that the school would be “too close” to a white school. As a result, “the children, both colored and white, would have to travel the same streets and roads in order to reach their respective schools.” The prospect of black and white children commingling on the streets on their way to school was apparently so horrible to Carter that he requested that the state school board stop construction of the black school until a new site could be found. The state board turned down Carter’s request because of “the staggering cost.” Carter and the rest of the Sumter County School Board then reassured parents at a meeting on October 5, 1956, that the board “would do everything in its power to minimize simultaneous traffic between white and colored students in route to and from school.”

Here’s some more:

Carter campaigned for governor of Georgia as a self-proclaimed “redneck,” in an era when that word had pronounced racial connotations. His campaign distributed a photo of his gubernatorial opponent Carl Sanders being embraced by black basketball players to a Ku Klux Klan rally. Carter pledged to invite Alabama’s infamous segregationist governor George Wallace to Georgia if elected. He once said he was “proud” to have the equally segregationist Lester Maddox as his lieutenant governor following the 1970 election, calling Governor Axe-handle “the essence of the Democratic Party” (which he was).

How about a blog post from someone who used to work for Carter? (Click the link to see the flier in question)

This flier was sent to barber and beauty shops, in envelopes addressed by me, when Jimmy Carter ran against Carl Sanders in the l970 Georgia gubernatorial campaign. It is racist. Hamilton Jordan, Carter’s friend and long time associate, created it . In my naivete (I was 20), I didn’t consider the racism, instead, it was a great way to score a win against the Republican candidate. Get that? Accusing the Republican candidate of cavorting with blacks. Reverse racism?

So, just a reminder: Jimmy Carter is a Racist. And the Worst ex-President (and maybe worst President) of all time.

The Worst President Ever just can’t keep his mouth shut.

The other day he was hurling the race card around, then the next day he doubled down, this time, with a bizarre attack on Jay Leno as a bonus.

So what to do for an encore? Accuse the US of illegally supporting a coup against Hugo Chavez, of course.

“I think there is no doubt that in 2002, the United States had at the very least full knowledge about the coup, and could even have been directly involved,” Carter told Colombian paper, El Tiempo, on Sunday.

For added fun, the link to the story above is from the Iranian State Media. Just showing you how helpful Mr. Carter is to the cause.

Because a former US President spewing conspiracy theories that can be used by our enemies as propaganda is a really well thought out strategy.

Why, Jimmy Carter’s Book, of course.

That’s right, the most wanted [dead] man in America has released another of his infamous tapes, and just in time for back-to-school, he’s got some recommended reading for you:

2. “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” in which former President Jimmy Carter gives his views about how best to end the Arab-Israeli conflict, and criticizes Israeli treatment of Palestinians in the territories. While the voice on the tape does not mention this book by name, it calls on Americans to “read what your former president, Carter, wrote regarding Israeli racism against our people in Palestine,” in a characterization of the book that goes beyond Mr. Carter’s own language.

Hey Jimmy – if OBL is endorsing your book, it’s safe to say you’re wrong. Personally, I think you’re racist.

Just wanted you to be aware. Any and all criticism of President Barack Obama is racist in nature.

Republican Congressman Joe Wilson shouted “You Lie” at the President the other day. He apologized. The President accepted his apology.

That, however, was not good enough. You see, the stakes are much higher:

Making an obvious reference to the Ku Klux Klan, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will be putting on “white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside” if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

So, as the man himself says so often, let me be clear:

  • Calling the President a liar, even when he is lying – racist.
  • Quoting the constitution – racist.
  • Wanting smaller government and/or attending a protest – racist.
  • Objecting to a government takeover of health care – racist.
  • Not wanting government funds going to a group that systemically suborns child prostitution – racist.
  • Anything Keith Olbermann objects to – racist.
  • Repeatedly calling the President feckless on your low traffic blog – obviously racist. It has nothing to do with his weak ass foreign policy, and everything to do with the fact that his father was from Kenya. You got me.

Picture totally and unabashedly ripped off from Ace.

Important Update: Not 10 minutes after posting this did Drudge post this gem from my second favorite feckless President.

Actually, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t. But she did refer to a President of the United States as Feckless. And that’s really my thing.

Only she used the word to describe George Bush, specifically his foreign policy.

Feckless, I’ll remind you, means weak or ineffective.

You could argue that Bush was ineffective, but weak? Wasn’t he beat up for 8 years for using “Cowboy Diplomacy” and being “reckless” by calling Iran, Iraq and North Korea evil?

Ms. Paglia- I urge you to rescind your use of feckless, and find a new adjective for George Bush.

Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama have the market cornered on feckless, as you can see by reading my blog.

The Western Wisconsin Derecho was a severe storm (or more accurately, a Derecho) that occurred through several counties of Western Wisconsin on July 15, 1980. It caused nearly $160M in damage (1980 dollars)(including severe damage to Menards headquarters) and is still referred to as “The July 15th (1980) Storm,” “July 15th, 1980,” or simply “The Storm.”

The best part is, the storm was all Minnesota’s fault!

That’s a half truth. The storm formed in MN, picked up speed, and did most of it’s damage in Wisconsin.

The storm developed during the heat wave of 1980. Eight days prior to the storm, MN had experienced highs above 90°F, which primed the fuse for a storm.

As the storm raced through St Croix, Pierce, Dunn, Eau Claire, Chippewa, and Clark counties, it caused a band of damage more than 20 miles (30 km) wide. A maximum wind speed of 110 mph (177 km/h) was recorded at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, while 100 mph wind was recorded in the city of Eau Claire. At 9:39 p.m., WEAU-TV broadcast an alert from the National Weather Service about one of several tornado warnings that evening for Eau Claire County; moments later, the station lost power and went off-the-air.

Although much of the storm’s damage was caused by straight-line winds a total of 10 tornadoes (ranging from power of F0 to F3) were reported.

Also, there was controversy because although the Feckless Jimmy Carter declared it a disaster area, due to the massive influx of Cubans into the country, the Mount St Helens eruption of 18 May, the severe tornadoes in Grand Island, Nebraska in June, and flooding in western Pennsylvania during August, the FEMA rules changed, covering only 75% of the damages, leaving WI with $800,000 of disaster to cover.

He’s been officially demoted to second most feckless after Obama’s handling of the current Iran crisis… but anyway

Hamas reportedly foiled an attempt by Palestinian terrorists to kill former US president Jimmy Carter during his visit to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Well, it would be silly if they didn’t stop the plot, seeing as how Carter is their biggest cheerleader on the world stage.

But wait… who really stopped the plot?

Israeli security sources said they had learned of plans to target Carter and had passed on the information to his security detail in “real time.”

[Israeli] Security officials said soldiers in a lookout post spotted Hamas forces dismantling explosives. They said they passed on a warning to Carter’s security detail.

So how is Carter taking the whole thing? I mean, even for an ex-President an assassination attempt must be scary, right?

Oh- he’s taking the official Hamas position: it never happened.

But Islam Shahwan, a spokesman for the Hamas Interior Ministry in Gaza, denied the report of the assassination plans, which appeared first in Ma’ariv.

According to Shahwan, explosives were not discovered near the Erez border crossing and Carter’s visit had gone according to plan.

Carter later said that he did not believe an assassination attempt had occurred.

In speaking with reporters in Tel Aviv in the evening, Carter said he was not aware that anything was going on and that his staff and drivers were not aware that they had been rerouted.

Nothing to see here folks… move along…

Carter, clueless? I find that hard to believe.

I don’t know if it’s REALLY the word of the day or not, but according to my g-mail ads, the word of the day is “Feckless!”

It means “ineffective; weak; worthless.”

Condoleeza Rice was on The Tonight Show last night, and she is really an amazing person. While I don’t agree with her on everything, you can’t dispute that she is very talented, and has a very interesting story.

For some lame reason NBC doesn’t have the whole interview available, but I’ll include what they do have below. It’s most of the second segment. The first segment is not online.

I missed the first few minutes, but what I did catch:

  • She wanted to be a concert pianist when she was younger. She could read music before she could read words.
  • After she decided a career in music probably wasn’t too practical, she got in to politics. Her first real political class was taught by Madeline Albright’s father.
  • She was the Provost at Stanford University. She first met Hilary Clinton when Clinton was bringing Chelsea to college at Stanford.
  • Her father tried to register to vote as a Democrat in Alabama but had some issues with the Poll test. (It was “how many beans are in this jar.”) So they found the Republican clerk and he registered as a Republican. He was a Republican his entire life.
  • Rice herself was first a Democrat, but switched to the Republican party in opposition to The Feckless Jimmy Carter’s Feckless position toward the Soviet Union.
  • Bonus from wiki: her name is derived from the Italian musical expression, Con dolcezza, which means “with sweetness.”

Here’s the video:

Yeah it’s not really something I learned, but it’s a beat I cover regularly so suck it up.

The Feckless Jimmy Carter met The Feckless Barack Obama at the White House Today.

Reports indicated they discussed White House Tennis Court scheduling and worked to develop a strategy for handing control of Israel over to Hamas.
