Hmmmm

Dozens of US cities may have entire neighbourhoods bulldozed as part of drastic “shrink to survive” proposals being considered by the Obama administration to tackle economic decline.

The government looking at expanding a pioneering scheme in Flint, one of the poorest US cities, which involves razing entire districts and returning the land to nature.

Local politicians believe the city must contract by as much as 40 per cent, concentrating the dwindling population and local services into a more viable area.

Now I may have a history of being a little hard on the Feckless Obama administration, but on the other hand, I’ve also spent more than my share of time in Flint, Michigan.

And I couldn’t agree more. A bulldozer is about the only thing that can save that town.

Actually, I’m in favor of aggressively bulldozing in most places. The best thing that could happen to Minneapolis (or many other older cities) would be for someone to bulldoze half of it. Move the scum out, build nice things, and nice people will move in.

No one is served by the broken down old crappy buildings (you know, the one tree huggers say have character). Not to mention, those old crappy eyesores are energy inefficient too.

I’m even in favor of zoning the area for low income housing. I’m not saying bulldoze the poor neighborhood and build new condos for the rich folk… how about some nice, new, shiny yet affordable condos for the working folk? Give the people something to have pride in, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll be able to get crime under control.

So bulldoze away, President Feckless. And if you want to create a special bulldoze fund that I can contribute to, just let me know how.
