The B.M.T. in Subway’s Italian B.M.T. stands for Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest (LAME name). In the early days of SUBWAY® restaurants, it was a promotion that was based on the Brooklyn Manhattan Transit system in New York City that went along with the subway theme.

As a former Sandwich Artist, I can vouch for the fact that the indeed lame name, Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest, is the true name of the BMT.
Avoid the Cold Cut Combo… it’s turkey….dyed pink.

That is disgusting… but turkey + dye is probably still more appealing then whatever bologna is supposed to be.
