Like this one, in Iowa.
But apparently the Econolodge in Des Moines and the Quality Inn in Amarillo, TX do not have internet access at all – free or otherwise.

As much as anyone can be a “fan” of rest stops, I am a fan of rest stops in Iowa. They are actually sanitary-seeming, and if anything died in them, I can’t smell it.
While I cannot comment on those particular brands, many hotels charge for internet access (except in the lobby) to make up for the loss of revenue from porn rentals. People stopped getting the spendy in-room porn, they would just bring their laptop. Presuming that they don’t want to watch porn in the lobby, the hotel then charges to access the internet in their room.
The last two hotels we were in were the types of places that I don’t think the typical clientele would mind viewing porn in the lobby. Perhaps that explains the absence of Internet building-wide.
I liked the rest stops in Kansas the best on this trip.
For non-rest stop stops, I recommend the Flying J.
I’ve got a Flying J we could smoke if you wanted to. Guys, I was kidding.
