It takes about 2 minutes.

To be fair I heard that a few weeks ago, but only experienced it today. (I’ve been in line the rest of the time- ha ha just kidding that’s a DMV line length joke)

And my license doesn’t expire until 2045. So that’s good news. I’m only stuck with this picture until 2045.

They grab them right from the treetops.

I would have thought a monkey would be too big for a bird to eat, but I guess not.

Since monkeys (like humans and birds of prey) have only a 60 degree field of vision, they hang out in packs to hopefully better avoid bird attacks. (more eyes = more chances to avoid birds)

Who says TV is a mindless activity?

Meaning “the act of preying or plundering.”

As in:

Predators may or may not kill their prey prior to feeding on them, but the act of predation always results in the (ecologically significant) death of the prey.

Notice of the word was from that fascinating History Channel show last night, called Evolve. This episode dealt a lot with eyes and how they evolved differently in predators and prey.

Their eyes are on the sides of their heads, which allows them to see all around their bodies. They evolved that way since they are perpetual prey for predators.

Cool. I wish I could see 360 degrees. I also wish the little ° thing was easier to make so I didn’t have to type “degree” all the time.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading since the abrupt replacement of the CEO of The Wife®’s company yesterday. Having just been through the implosion of a company, I’m not thrilled about going through another one. Especially since this one had me relocating several thousand miles from home.

One thing I noticed in the coverage is that the StarTribune (One of the worst newspapers in existence) seemed to have a real problem with Mr. Cooper (No, not that Mr. Cooper)

Obviously, you’d expect the Strib to hate on a former chair of the MNGOP. That’s natural. But this seemed more personal. After some reading, I think it’s pretty obvious. You can always follow the $.

You see, a few years ago, the guys at Powerline (one of the best blogs ever- Time Magazine approved!) were victims of an attack by the petty and bitter Nick Coleman of the StarTribune.

The saga is recapped pretty well here.

Anyway, Mr. Cooper came to the defense of the free speech rights of his employees, and issued this response to the StarTribune:

One thing I can assure you of is that if your columnists can suggest that people stop banking at TCF because of the political activities of one of its employees, TCF will never spend another dollar on advertising in the Star Tribune as long as I am Chairman.

I can’t speak to the actual ad $ spend before and after this date, but I have to give him credit for the principle. It’s probably a pretty good bet to skip the Strib advertising anyway, since no one is reading it anyway.

… has as many grams of fat as a Sara Lee cheese cake!

Other interesting Baconator comparisons:

Sodium (1920 mg)
180 Pringles potato chips

Calories (830)
83 Life Saver Five Flavors candies
166 Starbucks coffees of the week 12 oz
Enough Pam No-Stick Cooking Spray to cover 138 10-inch skillets

Fat grams (51)
51 cups of Froot Loops
10 servings of KFC mashed potatoes with gravy
68 Aunt Jemima microwaveable pancakes

All this goodness, and I have yet to try it!

www.cuil.com (pronounced cool)

Made by 4 former Google engineers. They (of course) claim they are better.

I haven’t done any side-by-side comparisons or anything, but I do like how their results page looks. I guess we’ll see what happens.

… do not mind eating balloons of pureed Habanero Chilis. While the host’s mouth was on fire after one drop, the chili had no effect on the swarm of sharks.

Crazy.
